Japan Blue Denim Bear and Momotaro Banner Photoshop Contest

It’s giveaway time again and we’ve got two amazing pieces of Japanese denim memorabilia up on the block:

For you hardcore denim lovers who happen to have children or just like cute toys, Japan Blue Jeans has got something for you. The Indigo Patchwork Teddy Bear is made of fabrics of previous seasons and no two are exactly alike. The limbs on this boro-like ursus can rotate 360 degrees and the right arm bears the JBJ logo as well as the JBJ creed (It’s a limited run and you can pick one up for $85 through Okayama Denim).

Momotaro has also released a full width Selvedge Banner. This banner is made of 15.75 oz. selvedge denim with the infamous pink selvedge ID and boasts a screen printed Momotaro ‘Peach Boy’ atop the brand’s Battle Stripe arcuate. It’s been used at many trade shows throughout the years and is now available for you to hang in your denim bachelor pad. For true Momo fans, you can rep your stripes for $65 through Okayama Denim.

So how do you win these two items? If you’ve followed our Sales Compendiums through the weeks, you’ve noticed we’re no stranger to Photoshopping denim into inappropriate places. The no-eyed vacant stare of the bear got us thinking.

  1. Send in your best doctored photos of the Japan Blue Jeans bear via the submission form below. Please note you’ll also be subscribed to our daily newsletter which you can unsubscribe from at any point in the future.
  2. In seven days, we’ll pick and post our favorite three submissions.
  3. The ultimate winner will be decided by an open vote between the three submissions. The creator of the best photo will win the bear and one randomly selected voter will get the banner.

We’ve already gone to the trouble of cutting out a .png of the bear, you just have to put him somewhere. Have fun!

Momotaro x Context Clothing 0701 113XX Re-release

Midwest retailer, Context Clothing and Kojima’s Momotaro are back at it again, re-releasing the 0701 113XX jean. The fabric on this 16 oz. selvedge denim uses three different yarn gauges that are randomly arranged resulting in an irregular weave with plenty of texture and slubs to go around.

Though hair on hide and sheepskin leather patches are nice, the 0701 113XX goes a step above by using natural, undyed Horween shell cordovan. With that taken into account, it’s a bit surprising that the price point manages to stay under $300.

Okayama Denim x Momotaro Wabash Western Shirt

In collaboration with Okayama Denim, peach-loving denim masters, Momotaro have just released a very limited set of western shirts in an indigo-dyed wabash stripe fabric. It’s the blue collar business stripe of the workwear world and it’s now available in a western shirt with some amazing details.

Cut slim, the shirt is triple needle stitched throughout, improving construction and limiting stretch and shrinkage. At the side seams you’ll find the vintage-inspired chain-stitch runoff detail. Along the placket and at both chest pockets are oversized hexagon pearl snap shell buttons. A nice change from regular circle snaps.

Only made into 25 pieces, it retails for $175 and you can find it at the Okayama Denim website.
